H. Davis Lewis, Jr. is a native Floridian, civil litigator, and trial counsel. Helping respective clients in and around Hillsborough, County, Florida through difficult times in their lives and family’s lives and contributing positively to the John Bales Team is the mission. Davis practices in the areas of automobile crashespremises liabilityinsurance good faith/bad faith insurance claims, trucking accidents, negligent security, personal injury, wrongful death, and dog bites.

Davis has experience in litigating civil causes of action on behalf of respective clients throughout the State of Florida in state and federal courts. This experience includes resolving claims and cases on behalf of respective clients at the pre-suit stages and pre-trial levels that eliminate allegations of bad faith insurance claims handling practices. He has experience as Lead Trial Counsel in multiple cases concluding after Trial by Jury and the rendition of unanimous verdicts by our citizen jurors. These outcomes are favorable to respective clients as evinced by prior jury verdicts. In 2015, the citizen-jurors of Palm Beach County returned a verdict for Davis’s client to conclude his very first Trial by Jury in an admitted liability case. In 2016, Davis tried back-to-back-to-back civil jury trials in the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County;. Davis helped determine if questions presented within the courtroom before the presiding judge and opposing counsel from the 2nd jury posed when they paused their deliberations could be answered, which caused voir dire of the venire panel for the 3rd Trial by Jury to be paused on two separate occasions. These unanimous jury verdicts were favorable to clients represented by Davis.

Davis is admitted to The Florida Bar, United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Davis helped draft a successful Opposition to the Largest Automobile Insurer in Florida’s Motion for Summary Judgment, which helped The Honorable Article III Federal Judge deny the movant’s Motion for Summary Judgment and this insurance bad faith case filed in federal court proceeded to Trial by Jury in January 2018 at Ft. Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida. Davis has fond memories volunteering with the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Spelling Bee Benefiting A.L.L. (Adult Literacy League) as Co-Chairman in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013; this charitable cause received the 2010 Outstanding Public Service Project Award of the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Section. Davis helped raised approximately $100,000.00 for A.L.L. over the course of these four charitable spelling bees.  He was The Florida Bar YLD/FEMA Disaster Legal Services Plan Volunteer, and Florida Super Lawyers, selected for inclusion, Rising Star 2012, 2013, 2014, 2018. Davis supports The Florida Sheriff’s Association and one of his favorite experiences in law school was being The Honorable Martin J. Bidwill’s first law school intern in the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida.

In his spare time, Davis enjoys spending time with his son, Luke J. Lewis, and their Shetland Sheepdog named Scout. Attending University of Florida baseball and football games, playing golf, and participating in outdoor activities in the Sunshine State are enjoyable too.
